vocabulary

Exposition- the part of the story that introduces us to the characters, setting, and the basic story conflict. Usually it is short and can sometimes be skipped.








 Rising action- the part of the story when the main character faces a series of complications relating to the conflict of the story as he/she journeys toward a goal 




Climax- The point where we learn the outcome of the conflict. This is often the emotional high point.










  
Falling Action -The falling action is the part of the story when the climax has finished and you're heading to the conclusion.

Resoultion (denoument)- the end of the story when we learn how the characters have dealt with the outcome of the conflict.
